For all you skiier boyz and galz (and boarders, too):

Ever interested in racing? We're talking a recreational citizen/NASTAR type modified slalom course racing. Separate age & gender classes. Even a separate snowboard class. This racing format is really time trialing and not head to head competition, although there are two side by side courses.

I run a ski team out of the Sporthouse in Canton, CT which participates in the Connecticut Industrial Ski Council (CISC, www.ciscskiing.org) race league. More specifically we participate in the leagues division at Sundown in New Hartford on Tuesday nights in January and February. It's a seven week league with a championship weekend held at Ascutney in Vermont in early March.

I have a few slots open to fill out our two squad, 30 member team. While it would be nice to find folks with race experience, this is not required. What is needed are intermediate or better skills and a commitment to participate for the season and to have fun participating with our crazy band and the league in general. Beyond that the league fee is $25 and are responsible for your own lift ticket nightly which covers the gate fees. The team coughs up shirts and hats, a pro-form level private sale night Do you know what a Pro-form is?). The league hosts a season kickoff party, does swag and raffles, parties at the championships, and an awards banquet at seasons end.

Interested? Contact me to discuss further with a private message.
