I want to take this opportunity to say 'Goodbye for now' to everyone who I have met in person and on line through the NEMBA forum. I joined a year ago and have really enjoyed lurking, learning and meeting fellow members for rides. Truly, a wonderful group of people.
I have accepted a position with my company at HQ and trust it will lead to better opportunities down the road. I just hope that better road is in the Northeast somewhere.
The good news is there are a bevy of mtb'ers at the home office and they are have two steady rides per week. Unfortunately, there are no hills in MI so I'm not sure what to expect as far as terrain, but I'm trying to be optomistic about the whole thing.
If anyone comes to Detroit drop me a line. I've got two bikes.
Take care,
Matthew

Matthew,
Congratulations on the new opportunity.
When do you leave?
Thanks for that guide of Huckleberry. I was hoping to ride there with you again but perhaps that'll have to wait until your return to the Northeast with a new job title and all.
I wish you the best of luck in your journey to "Hockeytown"
Take care,
Mark

I start my new gig on November 3rd. I'm out here this week for orientation then I'm back in CT for the w/o the 27th to tie up some loose ends with my current job. I'll be leaving one bike behind for my weekend trips home and taking one to MI.
Mark - I'll bet we can get another ride in at Huckleberry before I leave. I'll be in touch.
Splat - I just might take you up on the bike offer!
Later,
Matthew

I just moved from Michigan (Detroit) to Mass. You shouldn't have any trouble finding good trails. There are lots of good trails with 1-2 hours. The Potowatomie, Island Lake, and Brighton trails are all within 1 hour and are very respectable. Don't forget to try out some of the trails in Northern MI as well as the U.P. Riding is a little different compared to here. A lot less rocks, but the climbs are still steep and the descents are really fast. I love riding out here but Michigan is an awesome recreational state and has a lot to offer. I can't wait to ride there again.

Absolutely. Evil I'm holding you more than a few more rides out my way. We didn't get a chance to ride the "Demoralizer".
I still remember looking out of the corner of my eye (while I was giving that nice young lady directions from the parking lot) and seeing you go head and ass over handlebars off those elevated railroad ties..... :o
Good luck in the Motor City Phresh. Make sure you get up to Ann Arbor...cool place.
