Awesome!
Way to go PK. I know that there were a lot of folks involved in this effort but I also know for a fact that no one person was more instrumental in getting this project to completion than you.
Congratulations.

Awesome job guys. I'm sorry I was lazy in the process, but as of Sunday I am now a member and made a donation as well. Anyhow awesome job. I can't wait to see what progresses out of this and can't wait to work out there and cut some new lines. I have a couple other folks who aren't members as of yet ask me if there are still donations being taken, despite the fact that the land purchase has been secured. I jumped the gun and said yes as I'm sure you guys wouldn't mind a little icing on the cake. Also, do you see this type of idea expanding to other areas in the state; securing additional spots? I know that is sort of a presumptive question, and Phillip must be somewhat burnt out from this whole process, wondering if it would actually happen. Well it did. Congrats.

As a frequent rider of this area, all I can say is thanks. Incredible job, effort and committment by many parties, but most importantly by NEMBA made this possible. All who were involved deserve a giant pat on the back. My kids, friends and I are most grateful for your efforts. Cheers!!!!

I can't tell you how happy this makes me. I live real close by and couldn't imagine not having those trails to ride. Thanks for all the effort PK, it is truly appreciated.

Any chance of wilderness camping at the Nam. Mabee a couple solid tent platforms and a carry in carry out policy. Think about it, anyway.

P.K. Why not set up a area were we could have camping and or festivals for members. We own the land now so we should use it the best we can. I'm sure we could get enough people together
to clear an area for tenting . Rent port -o -pottys for nature calls.
I know this just happened and Nemba has alot of things to figure out first, but just a few ideas. Maybe set up something on the forum for Ideas and such?
Good luck

Uh, yea.
Keep in mind a couple of things. Creating a really cool place camp/hang-out/party and then not policing it is gonna make it a really cool place for the local high-school keggers and bonfires.
Also remember that this is 47 acres of land with NO STREET ACCESS. The parking lot at great brook that we used for last week's NEMBAfest (which would have been too small to park any more cars than it did) was roughly 10 acres. Would you rather have trails or parking lots.

Just an idea couch. Yes there are alot of things to take in account for,but It couldn't hurt to have a place for members to place the ideas on the land. Wether it be trail making ,camp site or building bridges. I don't know the lay of the land . I was just making suggestions is all.

Agreed, not knocking, just had the image of the local youth burning junk and smashing bottles and having a grand old time at our expense (literally) as I read your post ;)
Hopefully, once the management and management plan is in place, we can simply go in and do some work on the existing trails. Then maybe we can designs some new ones that are actually made for bicycles vs. dirtbikes. Baby steps is the key. It's all still volunteer effort and money we are talking about.
Peace!

I hear ya. I for one will be willing to do my part . The tough thing about building new trails will be keeping motor bikes of it.. Thats going to be a hard problem in its self. Do we not let them ride there and be hipocretens or let them be and take the chance of them ruining our trails. Their is going to be alot of problems and work to be done, but I'm sure the brain trusts @ nemba will come up with a plan..

I also can't wait to get dirty at Vietnam and help with some much needed maintanence.
As far as dirt bikes are concerned: do they even ride in the woods? I've only seen them out by the powerlines and in the sliver of land between the pow lines and 495. That section isn't ours (right?) so nothing to worry about there.
