Who's going to NEMBAfest? What's the ride plan? I was going to lead a ride but am thinking that maybe I'll just go low key this year. If anyone wants to ride, lemme know. I'm thinking I'll bring my geared bike (Bullit) and do a big old XC loop.

I'm in for a ride. Later morning works for me(10-30)...my wife rides first while I keep my son occupied.

I'll be there and leading with Fattire Freak a "advanced intermediate slow and fast pace to warp speed with a fun and non-competive but aggressive freeride twist"....ah its just an intermediate ride.
I have been privately emailing KnuckleDumper trying to out bid Gungywump on the X9 parts, and asked knuckles if he was going to NembaFest. His reply was what, when and where? What a space case! How could he miss this event and not know about it! NembaFest will not be worth going to if he doesn't show up (ok that's an exaggeration), but he has to go! I am sending out a plea to everyone to bug the s*** out of Kev so he is forced to go. I don't care if he doesn't ride, or sells all his parts at the bike swap, but he must attend!
I WANT KNUCKLEBUSTER AT NEMBAFEST! and MMG too! and Noo, you all better be there wussys!

Nice! Should be a hoot. I figure I'll do the advanced loop then head out for some extra junk maybe. I'll probably ride early as my wife's advanced women's ride departs at like 9:30am. Will see though.
Todd, any word from Record and Ian on a special guest appearance?

Alright, Alright, Alright. I'm gonna go. I'll be with my wife though and I doubt she'll wana ride so I might be bikeless. Well maybee I'll show off my new bike but I don't wana leave her behind. She's wacky about riding with people. "I suck" " I can't keep up" "I suck"
Well I suck too, but that usually doesn't help.
Is parking going to be a problem? Do I need to get there at 6am to get a parking spot?

NEMBAfest is going to rock.
The weather looks like it is going to be good last I checked.
We have a ton of lead rides arranged (look for Mr. Pinchy in the NEMBraro) and marked loops. Hey even if you don't ride, it should be a lot of fun. I don't know what it is with Knuck and parking today ??? We have a new layout for the expo and a plan to accommodate more cars then last year. We also have a backup plan. You don't need to show up at 6am unless you want to help set up but it would be cool if you could show up with a little patience and chill while the volunteers get you parked. We have asked a bunch of folks to help in the parking lot so that we can get as many cars in each lot as possible. I have a good idea! Why doesn’t knuck show up a little early and he can help park cars. He already told us he doesn’t plan to ride and clearly parking is something he cares a lot about. Let us know ok!

I'm leading one of the "official advanced intermediate" rides. We'' see how advanced it is, I'll probably be going slower that Todd's intermediate ride. Should be a lot of fun.

Hey knuckles, make sure to have the expression from your avatar on your face at all times so we can recognize you. ;)

Okay by hook or by crook I'll have my arse at NEMBA Fest.
Todd leading an intermediate ride (define intermediate for me please - aren't you guys the 45 mile epic crew!? ;) )
In any event, I plan to be there. It'll be great to catch up with those of you I met at the Roast and Ride and also a chance to meet other forum and non-forum NEMBA members.
Gungywump will you be there? NOO?
What about Old Broad and Nhiker?
What time do you think rides will be taking off? My plans for the weekend are for me to have my sons with me on Friday night and all day and night on Saturday. I was planning on dropping them off at their Mom's en route to NEMBA Fest, but I'm gonna have to get up awfully early to do that. Perhaps it would be best to spend the day and most of the night with them on Saturday and drop them off on Saturday night.
Any idea on how long the drive will be from say Hartford, CT to the NEMBA fest site?
Here's to great weather, great people and great riding! ;D

Ok, I'll try to ask this question in a passive manner. I do plan to bring 2 bikes. 1 my new hollowpoint, just to show it off and stuff, and my gack, to kick around on. I don't plan to do any trailriding as my wife will be with me and she is too self-conscious about her riding abilities even though I've told her 100 times how cool everyone is and it's not about a competition. So my question is this. If I bring my bikes, how far will the car be from the main area, and will I basically have to babysit the bikes all day long (cart them around with me for fear of being stolen) or is there a secure area to keep bikes, or do you suggest bringing a lock, or leaving the bikes at home. Now please, I'm asking a legitimate question, so don't get all :-X PINK_BIKE :-X on me, please. Kevin

If you have a lock, I'd say bring it just in case. There will be a zillion bikes there and the parking is right next to the expo area but you never know. You should at least plan to ride a little bit. There will also be lots of folks riding and tons of beginner rides going as well so your wife should be able to ride too.

Kevin,
Bring the Wife and her bike. There are led rides at a family pace. I know i can hook her up on a ride with a leader from my bike skills class that she will fully enjoy. All the intermediate and advanced loops break away and return to the beginner loop so you should be able to do your thing at the same time. Coming to Great Brook Farm and not riding the trails(dirt roads really) to take in the beauty of the trees and ponds is a wasted trip.

The Trek truck is coming with 2004 bikes to demo so turn that frown upsidedown :)

Yeah that ride schedule needs some tweaking. I have no problem leading a group of meager skill deficient intermediates, but the start time of 10:45? How can I possibly squeeze in a 40+ mile ride and get them back in time for the party? I want to leave earlier! Trade spots with me Joe!
Ok heres a ROUGH idea of the ride schedule. This is not written in stone! I'm sure it will change abit! IT will Change!

Todd,
Will you be riding the Minuteman this weekend?
If I have my kids stay overnight with me on Saturday night and then drop them off at their Mom's very early on Sunday morning, that 10:45 intermediate ride would probably work well for me.
I need to do a Yahoo Maps thing to see how long it'll take to get to NEMBA Fest........
Okay I checked and it looks to be a little over 2 hours according to Yahoo Maps (but that's driving the speed limit right? ;D)
I'm psyched to attend. Wish I was going with a group of friends, but I'm sure I'll find some great folks to ride with on Sunday.

We'll be there! I plan to show up between 9:00 and 9:30 and hit the trail by 10-ish. How about you guys?
I don't know how much riding I'll get in, but Jim@downfall and I will be doing some filming. Pete will probably hook up with a ride and do some helmetcam.
Is there a group out there that's up for starring in a new film???? 8) It would be great to have people that we know!
If I can't hook up with you on the whole ride, maybe you'll see us by the first nastiest downhill or something, behind the camera. Feel to lose the IQ and do something stupid! ;D

There will be maps of the loops available at the event. Unfortunately the park does not allow alcohol, so there will not be any beer.
