if you noticed jsb2dc's signature about risk taking, you would have seen that it is from a fantasy novel by raymond feist.
feist writes good stuff, especially his magician series. but i thought his best was a horror novel, faery tale, which is based on celtic legends.
very appropriate at this time of year, too.
