WE DID IT!!!

NEMBAfest is going to be a GREAT celebration of our success in raising enough money to buy Vietnam. The final fundraiser was Monday night at the Vegas Interbike Trade Show, with the whole bike industry "bowling for Vietnam." My heartfelt thanks to everyone who donated to make this possible -- you rock!

We'll be holding a short ceremony at 1pm at NEMBAfest, so I hope everyone will come and celebrate with us. This is a great day for New England mountain bikers, and we'll be sending out all the cool details after we close on the property.

So, do your best to come celebrate with us at the NEMBAfest at Great Brook Farm in Carlisle this Sunday. All the details are at www.nemba.org.

Yeah, this is a NEMBA milestone!

I can't even begin to extend the full range of thanks to the folks that made it possible, but the core group was NEMBA's Land Preservation Fundraising Committee, and everyone on this committee put in serious time to make this happen: Karen Drew, Gary Graham, Krisztina Holly, Jon McNeill and Anne Shepard.

This has been a great crew, and we've gotten to know each other very well over the last year -- maybe too much? ;D

Also, it was NEMBA's Board of Directors (coming from all the chapters) which got solidly behind this effort and allowed me to make it NEMBA's top priority.

Fantastic news! I can't wait to be able to enjoy mtn biking "legally" in a section of some of my favorite NE riding; that along with other mtn bikers we can all rightfully call it a place of "our own".
