The American Red Cross should set up at Lynn. There is always plenty of blood flowing there.

Betcha that might not have happened if he had a full denim sheath. It may look bad but it appears only to be a simple laceration. Letting it bleed like that is also probably a good thing when out of the trails. Wounds like this tend to self clean.

Peeps always make fun of me wearing shin/knee pads, full-face and elbow pads. Thanks Bill, that made me realize once again that I'm doing the right thing. Damn lots 'n' lots of blood. NICE.

Lemme guess - Dan S., aka 'digger'. No I wasn't there but I recognize the ruby slippers, i.e. red cycling shoes.

Otherwise I have no idea - pretty freakin gross though !!!

I am always surprised at how observant people are to how others are dressed. To think you could recognize someone just by remembering their shoes or socks. Both guys too. amazing

That was too quick.

Seems like every time I go to Lynn I leave behind the pads I specifically bought for this one park, thinking I'm just going to do an easy XC ride. Trouble is some new line in the rocks attracts your attention, or you have escaped injury for most of the ride and just want to try one little section that has disaster potential, and then there you are looking a mess in the parking lot. The place can take it's toll like no other.

That's a fine steak & cheese shot-yikes!
I opened up my knee & elbow while endo'ing at Lynn back in the fall of 2000. That night I ordered up some body armor while icing my bloody gash.
I still get flesh wounds, but it's either dissapated due to the armor, or due to my leaving the armor home (it's only a cross-country ride & I'm wearing spandex..so I don't really need any armor today...)
The attached pic happened while wearing body armor; my elbow took a month to close up from a nasty puncture wound, and my knee got a small gash in it when the Core Rat gave up the ghost & cracked in a DH wipeout.

PS-Maybe we need a new thread called 'best wound healing practices'..anyone know a doc/nurse/wound care specialized that could moderate?
