Just saw this posted on the MTB-Whitemountains List... sounds pretty cool! I haven't ridden there, and it sounds somewhat epic too.

Anyone thinking of going?

2003 Hoof 'n Wheeze (among the Trees) Trail Festival
Sunday October 5, 9 to 3 p.m.

Basic Idea: Bring hikers, mountain bikers, and horse back riders to the same grassroots festival. Separate sets of clearly marked trails will be offered for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding. Guided and self guided off-road rides on the 40 mile plus network, including a mega loop orienteering ride to the top of panoramic Teneriffe Mt.
Where: the 3,000 acre Branch Hill Farm in Milton Mills, NH off Exit 18 on the Spaulding Turnpike
Why: to benefit Moose Mountains Regional Greenways -- a highly active land preservation group working in Milton, Farmington, New Durham, Middleton, Brookfield, and Wakefield.
Why again: excellent varied terrain riding, live r&b music (Soul Junket and more), food and drink, kid's races, pony rides, face painting, tug of war (mtn bikers vs. horsefolks), and a major silent auction.
Fee: $10 for mountain bike riders, under 12 are free
Directions: From the Spaulding Turnpike take Exit 18 (also the exit for the Farm Museum). Take a right at the base of the ramp. Take the next left, this becomes Applebee Road, and follow about 1 mile until Branch Hill Farm on left.

Z, this is very cool and I hope to make it, just getting over a flu type thing and of course I will need to get a kitchen pass!

Some Seacoast members are going as well, this could open up a whole new area for cyclist and participation in this event will show our support for their efforts; obtaining and connecting more lands for conservation and trail use.

How often do we have land managers inviting us to come ride and check out their property? Very cool indeed.
There is a flier with more info on the event here: http://www.moosemountaingreenway.org/mmrg%20events%2003.htm

These are a great group of people who "...came together for the common purpose of protecting some of our region's most precious, irreplaceable open spaces." "...our group envisioned connecting islands of conservation lands to form corridors or "greenways" throughout our region."

And they want cyclist to enjoy and participate in this effort.
Hmmm, sure sounds like a group worth supporting to me.

I hope to see you all there!

Hi Len and others,

I was just wondering how this event worked out. We sponsored a similar event about five years ago with a local equestrian group and some of those positive relationships continue today.
