What's wrong with Mianus River Park, one of Stamford's very own?

Mianus Trails are my old stompin' grounds. It's not a large park but it has a lot of stuff packed in. The fire roads are generally packed with hikers but the single track is pretty open.
You should also check out Huntington State Park in Redding.

I hear that Mianus is a good ride. Are all the trails still open there? I thought that I heard something about trail closures there. I haven't been. Is there a map of Mianus online anywhere?
When I'm visiting the folks I usually only have time to go to the Wilton Town Forest, which is about 10 minutes from my parent's house. Save it for after you've been riding a while though since it's mostly moderately technical. Small place, but fun.

There are no trail closures enacted nor announced. Stamford did pass a resolution for a seasoanl spring trail closure earlier this year. They are also working with the National Park Service to review the park and trail sysytem with a guise on addressing the degradation of specific trails. At the last public meeting the focus was on a riverside trail that is eroding to some degree based on sheeting water flow across the trail. Seems that a lack of vegetation on the flood plain that the trail transits is a big contributor. Also there has been some concerned expressed regarding MTB behavior across the park (trail braiding, even unauthorized trail builds, and also a possibility of insensitivity regarding shared use by MTB'rs), though nothing specific has been presented nor cateloged by the NPS project.
So, the park remains open to MTB use. Suggestions would be to stray away from the riverside trail and cultivate a better sense of sharing the facility with others (it's all too easy to hammer around without considering others that are competing for the trails).
Oh, the city of Stamford maintains a website. There is a trail map in their parks&rec section.

Some places to ride in FFC-- Cranbury Park in Norwalk, Trout Brook in Easton, Pequonnock in Trumbull, Mianus (yes! lots of good riding-- just take it easy riding out of the parking lot, please!), and my usual hang out - Huntington in Redding -- lots and lots of trails of all sorts, and appearently the state is purchasing or will purchase another bunch of land which will has some trails which will make some awesome loops.
