Yes, I plan to be in attendance with the rest of the N.H.B. crew. I usually ride this event on my SingleSpeed but, I may bring the DAWG instead.

Can you give people an idea on what the advanced course is like?
There was an EFTA race down there this year but reports said the course was pretty lame.
Basically looking for classic CT style singletrack :-), i.e. case mountain, Gay City type trails - Singletrack and rocks are good.

I CAN'T, dammit!!!! I will be in Anaheim on business from the 13th to the 19th. Well, I will be pulling away from my busy work schedule on Sunday to do some epic XC riding in the greater San Diego area. 8)
If the rain date is needed, I'll be there. Looks like it's shaping up to be another beautiful weekend though.

I will be there and would definitely be up for a 'forum ride'. Intermediate or Advanced? (...I'd be happy doing either) My only other question would be what time would people be heading off into the woods? When I went to Shenipsit I arrived too late and missed the boat. I do not want to make the same mistake twice.

Here's a description of Pachaug from Bikerag.com - I've ridden Pachaug only once, got very lost and likely didn't ride what I should have. A marked route would be most excellent:
Pachaug is the largest state forest in the world.. OK in CT.. I have been here twice now and would agree with the rave reviews on the street.. In this area you have so many networks of trails - pachaug - nehantic - narragansett, plus many unmarked trails and fire roads.. The trails also link up with Arcadia if your really crafty.. The trails are somewhat hard to follow, hopefully bikerag can work on that with a good topo map.. The trails vary from rocky singletrack, rocky double track, really rocky double track, smooth single track through pine forests, even some good slick rock riding (short sections).. Not too much vertical, but very technical - I wasnt bored with too many sections and very little hike a bike SO FAR!! Mount misery is a must!! Nice views and wicked cool technical rocks - try it both ways!!

1. I'm a little banged up and would only make the trip if I had the A game
2. I'll be celebrating a friends pending nuptials by participating in a festival of assorted activities commonly referred to as a bachelor party.

Alrighty, Mr GungyMan.
To celebrate your back doing so well, I'll use one of my last two "get out of jail free" cards and join you good people in CT this Sunday.
Is food provided or do we bring it? Any cost?
Will there be seasoned lamb and fire jumping?
I can carpool if interested. Live in Marlboro Mass just off the pike.
Bring on the fun!

Barbeque following the rides for NEMBA members. Others can join at the door. BBQ is a no frills burg/dogs/chick thing. BYOB, if you care to. Donations certainly will be graciously accepted.

Easy Gungy. As you probably guessed, I am "behind the scenes" trying to organize a ride, specifically for renegade misfits (and no-so closeted roadies) like ourselves. Something like an four hour ride, but if there is cool stuff along the way to screw around on, we'll stop. Basically of good balance of freeride/x-c. If anyone is interested let me know. Will have a bailout point after two hours.
Gungy, is my eyesite failing me or did you neglect to invite PK and Z? Don't you think they should be there for the best mountain bike festival in World, ever? Don't they deserve to have some of the Dewser's fine, fine home cooking?

Awww shucks... well I was thinking of not going because I felt left out. :'( But now maybe I'll change my mind! (Have to check with my significant other first, though.)
What time are you heading out? It'll be a haul for me to get down there, so if it's too early I'm out.
Anyone doing the epic loop? How long is it? I'm interested in another epic mega ride fest like last weekend!!! Well, maybe not 8.5 hours, though. (Or the advanced loop sounds good, too.)
Sounds technical, nasty, and very very fun.

I didn't realize this, but according to a donut-loving crony of mine, who used to frequent these posts, I actually ridden a lot of Pachaug. Apparently, the epic loop Dewser (or whoever is responsible) laid out is very very similar to a loop we charted on his GPS last September. Interesting, very interesting. I'm not accusing the Dewser of anything (just yet), but we are watching him. And when he slips up --- POW! We are going to pounce and subsequently sue the spandex off of him for copyright infringment.
So anyway, Pachaug is sort of a haul for most of us in central CT, so I don't think we will start until at least 9, Z. I'm not sure were you are coming from (it is Gungy's job to stalk you), but my guess is that you can cruise down 395 and it would only take you 1 1/2 - 2 hours from the New Hampshire coast. If you can't make it until 10, I'm sure many others would be happy the ride was delayed an hour, so check with hubby. If we push it back until 11, we're seriously cutting into the drinking time. I'd prefer to be done by 1, possibly 2.
As for the riding, I remember long x-c trails where you can really put your groove on. There was this really incredibly narly singletrack that followed a stream that went on for like four miles. Totally bitchin'. As for natural stunts, I can't remember too many drops and such, but there was this cool roller I chickened out of last year. This year I vow to make it down, dead or alive.

Bad news.
I blew it and reinjured my bad knee on yesterday's lunch ride. Probably a week before I can get back on the mountain bike. Sorry Gungy.
I'm just a no show again.
I'm not happy. :-[

Thanks for the invite, but the IMBA Epic consumed the last of my free weekends. Going to take the family to the Red Sox on Saturday to try to earn some back. GO SOX!
P.S. It is not "a haul" to anywhere in New England from Lexington, MA. OK, maybe Presque Isle, ME.

Awesome - get your arse down here then Todd! And bring the MM with ya! ;D
This rain delay rescheduling could actually help and provide people with a little more leeway in terms of planning to attend.
Justbill will you be able to make it? Perhaps some of the others who couldn't make it this Sunday can do next Sunday Hardtail Steve others?
Hey NhHiker and OldBroad - can you make the drive down for the day?
It would be super cool to see some of you guys that I met up in Bear Brook again.
IAB - what does MBC say about things??
I was originally going to head up to the Kingdom Trails (I think it was next weekend) to ride with Jollytime and others, but I want to spend Saturday with my Sons and then ride on Sunday so the CT-NEMBA Fest looks like the place to do that.
I sure hope Gungy and Big Game can make the new date.
Phresh, too bad you can't make it. It would have been good to hang with you again.
Hey NOO - will you have your A game in tact by then? If so, see if you can make it! :)

Dammit. :( Can't make this date either. Going to be at Six Flags riding coasters. This event kind of snuck up on me, and I didn't have time to plan for it. (I'm still trying to work in a Soapstone / shinipsit ride this year). NEMBA fest is looking like a strong possibility, though.
