I have been using one of the really big Camelbacks ever since the winter. Plenty of space for all the crap I bring, but been heavy and hot this summer.

I picked up a seat post bag at Pedro's. $5 special. This let's me use my lighter camelback. What a difference! So much more comfortable. Tools in the trunk & just water on the back. Much better.

It's trivial...I know, but I'm trying to get back talking about bikes.

I'm going the other direction. My Pedro's seat post bag's strap decided to separate from the bag on the way down from Whitehorse Ledge in N Conway. :o The bag was great up 'till that point. My guess is the wet / muddy spring caused constant mud and water thrown on it and it finally failed. So now I have a Camelback Blowfish. ;D

I just hydrate daily, drink until I am peeing clear. Then I can take 2 water bottles and forget about the camelback... I like it better personally.

check out new sun products. they make a hydration pack that has a small pouch on the top for batteries.the pack is made to fit very low on your back and take the weight off your shoulders. it comes with a very basic bladder but it can be replaced with any brand of bladder.
