8/2/03- Two friends and I started our journey on the mellow humid Highwater trail. Rode and hiked up Eagle Link to the Bicknell junction for Saturday night. Woke up to somewhat sunny Sunday. No bugs! Baldface Circle trail, Nice sections of smooth riding before the deathmarch hike up to South Baldface (3570), slippery decent down and nice ride out to second car on 113. Complete trip only about 23 miles, but the steep climbing with heavy pack and wet rocks were brutal. No casualties, No mechanicals.Yee Haw!

Todd, that looks like a cool adventure.

Lot of work to get to that trail on top, but looks like it was worth it. Good job.

That shot of Bill on the Circle looks really good. I should get my butt up there one of these days. I had a friend blow his hydraulic line after hike-a-biking all the way up. He was not happy about it even weeks later.

Hey Todd - next year let me know in advance and if I'm not in Africa I'll definitely join you! ;D

I'm been meaning to ride in those parts. It really looks like a great adventure - I love that kind of stuff.

I am in even more of a hurry than ever to check it out because the latest White Mountain forest revision proposals recommend Wilderness designation for that area - you know what that means for bike access... we'll see what happens.
