Letting everyone know of the upcomming Vermont Freeride Weekend at Bolton Valley Resort in Bolton Vermont. A large group of local rider in northern Vt have organized to rent out Bolton Valley resort on september 6th and 7th for an open weekend of riding. The chairlift will be turning for 8 hours each day to service Boltons growing Downhill network, volenteers will log hundreds of hours before the event bringing the trail network back to life after a few years of neglect. We intend to add additional descents and as much technical Vermont sigletrack as we can between now and then. In addition as the name suggests, we will be adding stunts and structures both in the woods and The "park" on the liftline. The resort has promised to mow the mountain and this will allow open slope riding which includes rock steeps and shelf drops. Camping will be available on the mountain at $5/per person. Rates are $25/day for lifts and trails..........or $10/day trails only. questions are invited ........Todd R. at Maxxspur@eartlink.net or Bolton Valley Resort at 802-434-3444x1076 Please come out to support this grass roots effort!!!!! Bolton needs to see turnout to consider developing their MB program. This awsome mountain is worth the trip.. See you there......Todd

Any idea if the mountain has lift chairs fitted with bike racks/hooks or if it's a carry-up method where you hold your bike on the chair in front of you?

Sounds like a fun time and a great area for sure!

No clue. I have a feeling that this is an attempt to reinvigorate the sport there. I don't think that the chair runs regularly.

the map shown is not avery good representation of what is at the resort, there will be a new map at the event. The chairlift has hooks on the chairs for bikes.... Bolton does not run its lifts regularly for bikes, but it has had Dh races series in the past. There will be as many as 5-10 NEW routes down the mountain ready for the weekend. The volenteers are working almost daily on the hill. Keep asking your questions here

Hey, thanks for thinking of me Todd! ;D

Hmmm........this event in Vermont, and then Z posts about some kind of IMBA epic ride in NH for the same weekend.

What to do what to do?

Either way, I think I should plan ahead and clear this weekend on my calendar for something.

Hell if my soon to be ex-wife gets to go to Ireland on a trip I turned down, I might as well have some fun on a weekend riding my bike!

But which to choose from?

I'll do my best to get some ladies to come up and ride, but that seems to be a fairly rare commodity. I can promise cold VERMONT beer and some of the sickest riding of the year. and to the person trying to chose between Vermont and NH, well, from what i hear all the NH riders are coming to visit their friends in Vermont that weekend, we suggest you do the same. Photos are comming soon, That'll convince you. Todd

Oh no Todd my brother with the same name, I didn't want to ride with any girls (too slow) I was thinking they could serve us beer and use Woolite on my armor....jkidding....

Some pictures of would be great DeWalt!

MMG, Imba Epics are fun, but Bolton sounds like a Freeride Epic- bring some 2steps to demo! oh and by the way I've decided to get a minuteman frame, but a friend up here just got the raw color so might buy a black one!

What about Couch, r u going???

Naw, I don't think so. That's the last weekend for SR so I want to get some DH action in before it's all over.

Couching tiger, are you after race action, or just some super sick downhill terrain? I think I'll be able to promise about 10 sweet downhill runs, most are Expert or better. I realize that you know what you're getting at Sunday River, But I bet once you've ridden here, you'll be back. Todd

Understood, but I'm in Bethel, ME every weekend anyhow and have a season pass at SR so it's all about convenience.

Fresh from the mountain.....an update....so much is going on up at Bolton that I can't keep track of it all.....here are the recent highlights. Completion of the third and fourth new DH trail!!!!!!, completion of new stunts and structures including a 60' log ride to drop, built up hits on the trails, some super steep ramps and a bunch more yet to come. This week we'll complete the mowing and some connector trails, bring in the dirtbikes to wear in some lines on the grass, and continue to built up stunts. hopefully I'll have some more photos up by monday evening.
