White Mtns Trail Building Weekend 8/16 & 17

August 16 & 17 is our third annual Trailbuilding Weekend. We have received official approval from the Forest Service(!), so we'll be building a re-route of the old Mineral Site Trail. The old jeep road has become heavily eroded through a recent clearcut, and we should be doing the finishing touches on a nice winding singletrack around the washed out section. This will be a huge improvement to a nasty bit of trail.

A Subaru/IMBA Trail Care Crew will be in town from the 14th-17th to help out as well. After the trail work on Saturday we'll go for a swim in the Saco River, then celebrate with a barbeque & party. We'll finish the weekend with a group ride in the Moat Mtns area to sample our work on Sunday.

Update:

The new trail has been cleared and raked (and is getting ridden daily). We'll have an easy work day on Saturday 8/16 bench cutting a couple steep sidehills and building some switchbacks.
