I am going up to the white mountain area in a week or so to visit my father. I am wondering if there is any trails to ride near where I am staying. I will be in Benton N.H. it is about 20mins north of N.Woodstock. I don't want to have to pack up the car and travel to far to ride. I am hoping that there is something fairly close by. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I'm not familiar with that area, but I'd suggest contacting Slade Warner at Rhino Cycle Works in Plymouth 603-536-3919.
I've spoken with him before and he knows his stuff. (You may remember his name from his racing days.)
He can probably hook you up with plenty of good riding, most likely in the Waterville valley area.

There are many logging/fire roads that would entertain you in some beautiful areas right in and around Benton. You can also check out areas like the Hubbard Experimental Forest, Tunnel Brook area, up to the Bridal Viel Falls...not far from where you will be...so much more to list! One resource is the hiking maps made by the AMC.....anything not listed as a Wilderness area is fair game on National Forest lands....really! Stop in at the Ranger station in Plymouth...they tend to be friendly and helpful. There is plenty of climbing on real mountains available....along with some huffin and puffin! Remember....if you aint hiking you aint biking. :D
