View Full Version : Mr. Cheese Please.... and anyone else!
Cheesedonger - (et al)
You usually don't get solicitated for your opinion but provide many anyway... so consider this a treat from your friend NOO.
The sox went 13-14 in May. Using there recent loss (or sweep) as an example. How can a team have 14 hits and 7 plus runs and still lose? Is it because of the ubsurd team ERA (low 5's or something).
With Pedro out and Lowe in a slump is there any hope? Casey Fossum is a nightmare. The submariner (Kim) sank the ship already....
Thoughts?

Christ. Just when the bullpen starts to get things together and pitch well, the starters begin to fall apart. >:( >:( You know, it's kind of hard to win a three game series when you allow 34 runs. I hope Kim pitches well tomorrow, and hopefully Pedro will get back on the mound before too long.
The Red Sox are the third best team in the AL East right now.

Mr. Cheeze is just trying to figure out if this is a cheap shot. Is not the very foundation of "discussion boards" based on opinions, whether solicited or not? It is not like Mr. Cheeze just carte blanche opines on every single topic out there. Mr. Cheeze only surmises when the topic is interesting or intriguing.
That being said, onto the issue at hand. Mr. Cheeze thinks you are just another easily disappointed Red Sox fan, always ready to throw in the towel at the first losing streak. Sure the pitching is in disarray to say the least, but look at it this way... it cannot get any worse. Here it is, June 3rd, and they are a half game out of first, behind a Yankees team that is not playing any better right now. Toronto? Better than expected but they will drop off. Kim? One relief appearance versus a scorching team is no indication of anything whatsoever. Hillenbrand was not the superstar that so many are making him out to be. On the other hand, Kim is only 24 and has great stuff. This trade was a no-brainer for the Sox.
Is Mr. Cheeze worried? Apparantly not like NOO. There are four months yet to go in this season. The pitching will stabilize, especially when they finally give up on Mendoza and White, and when it does they'll surge. And if not, Mr. Cheeze will rest knowing that Grady Little will not be the manager next season because he has no clue on how to handle a pitching staff.
Mr. Cheeze will go now and remain in waiting for the next opportunity to opine unsilicited.

It is a little known fact that Mr. Cheeze is a member of the grammar police. As a protector of the English language, Mr. Cheeze is particularly peeved when supposedly educated people confuse the three homophones there, their, and they're. "There" is an adverb signifying a place, moment or matter. Their, which is what you meant to use, Mr. NOO, is the possessive form of "they".
Mr. Cheeze also did not miss "ubsurd". Tsk, tsk. How absurd it is that spelling is such a problem for some.
Mr. Cheeze apologizes for the cheap shot volley. Perhaps there is some residual anger left over from the Sox's weekend in Toronto. Let me direct it in another, more appropriate manner. May the entire Blue Jays team gets SARS.

Well since you are a connoisseur of the English language, allow me to point out the correct spelling of the word unsillicited.

What makes you think I am "supposedly educated"? I'm glad you corrected me Mr. Cheese. Thank you.
You are all knowing. The other good attribute you possess is that you are not too (or is it "to"... crap ... I always forget that rule) full of yourself.
Thanks pal. You're (is this right..short for you are?) the man.
NOO (no need to call me Mr.)

I checked with a supposedly educated person and they thought it should be "unsolicited" versus your use of "unsilicited". But I'm sure you're right and they're (or is it there or their..oh crap..I can't get it straight.) wrong.

Not a cheap shot. Sorry if I hurt your feelings.
Thanks for input on the Sox. I'm not throwing in the towel.
Shea did get runs in but I pitching changes are priority.

No I am not. I rode this morning and bumped my head. I'm just not myself.

Mr. Cheeze's opinions were not hurt in the least, so no need to apologize. Mr. Cheeze was just busting balls, something at which the Omniscient One excels. Mr. Cheeze did, in fact, notice the typo "unsilicited" but left it as an opening for the sport of it. And yes, it was indeed a typo. You will notice the o and i adjacent to each other on your QWERTY keyboard. Furthermore, being all-knowing, and very handsome, Mr. Cheeze might add, it was indeed anticipated that both you, NOO, and Mr. Knucklebusta would retort in good fashion.
Thank you. Please drive through.
P.S. Mr. Cheeze feels it is time for a new avatar. Presenting the great and powerful, Snow Meiser.
My intent by calling Mr. Cheese out in the first place to was to have a good old fashion goof off. Mission accomplished. I wouldn't have expected anything less.
Good show. Until next time.
Your Bud,
