Karen,

Do you ride your Hook Koo E Koo much in it's geared configuration? If not, go for it! That is a sweet cromoly frame if memory serves me correctly. Steel is great for singlespeeding. Plus think of the beauty of the simplicity of single speed. It would be a great bike to ride around Boston with and it would also be a fun departure from your Sugar on some nice rolling trails in MA.

My Marin Nail Trail is just collecting dust right now, as I'm always on my Belair these days. I'd like to convert it to single speed as well, get some wider handle bars for it to give me better leverage on climbs, so that it would be a fresh alternative to my full suspension Belair. I just wish now that my Nail Trail was a steel framed rig vs. aluminum. Oh well.

The real folks who need to chime in here are Couch, PK, Gungy and others who ride Single Speeds often.

I've seen you post at MTBR.com (I'm CTRider over there) so why not pay a visit to the Single Speed forum with this question. I'm sure you'll get a lot of great feedback.

Keep us posted if you convert! And please show us before and after pics of the Fisher too! Is your's the sort of greenish colored frame-set?

Cheers,

Mark

Sweet Rig! I think it's a prime conversion candidate! It even has the funky (Yes album cover like) Fisher decals on it!

Go for it Karen! ;D
