Come Celebrate the Grand Opening of the
New Technical Trail at Lynn Woods!

Harpoon Mountain Bike Adventure Series
Lynn Woods Reservation

Great Woods Entrance of Lynn Woods
Sunday, June 8th
Registration 9am - 11am

Come out to the Lynn Woods Reservation on Sunday June 8th, for the grand opening of the new technical trail at Lynn Woods. Over 3 years in the making, this is a substantial piece of very technical singletrack designed and built by mountain bikers.

In 2002, after a year of planning, we started work on over 3 miles on new singletrack on Bow Ridge in Lynn. Taking advantage of all the natural rock drops, and hilly terrain, the New England Mountain Bike Association worked with the mountain bike community and the staff of the Lynn Woods Reservation to build a trail that any technical rider can be proud to ride.

This year the funds raised will go to the Lynn Woods Rangers Fund. With many state cutbacks, we were very lucky to retain the Lynn Ranger Program in Lynn Woods. Mountain biking in Lynn has benefited greatly thanks to the Lynn Ranger Program, and this is our way to say thanks.

Riding for all levels. Lead rides, bike vendors, parts swap, and many other activities. Don’t forget the post ride Harpoon party after the event!

The cost of the ride is $10 for NEMBA members and $15 for the general public. Kids 15 and under ride for free with a registered parent or guardian, and you can join NEMBA and ride for free!

Rides start at 9am.

Directions:

From North or South. Take Rt. 128 to Rt. 129 Lynn at exit 44. Follow Rt. 129 Lynn till you get to a rotary. Follow the rotary half way around, and proceed down Rt. 129 to Lynn. After about 2 miles take a sharp right hand turn just after a small church. There is a large sign near this church that says Lynn Woods Reservation. Enter the park and the event will be held near the Great Woods Road Parking area.

I'll be there. Hoping to do a big old loop with a bunch of good junk in it.

Maybe someone should organize a "forum ride". That is someone besides Couch -- he doesn't play well with others. On the other hand, you might be able to follow him by the following the mayhem of fallen riders on the sides of the trail! :P

Yeah, i didn't see a single person from the forum at the D.A.R. the other weekend. Unfortunately, I will not be able to make it to Lynn, since I took off all day Saturday to help do trail work at Bachelor St in Granby, I'm locked into working Sunday :-\

For all forum folk who want to ride together, they can meet at 10:30am next to the sand pile and old chimney.

Here's a picture of the official forum ride site:

That was a lot of fun and Lynn Woods ROCKS!!

The new trail is a work of art...nice job to all who helped build it. I was grinning like a fool when I came down the last hill into the event area ;D

I missed the forum ride due to time constraints. How was it?
