There is a new parking lot that just opened on Gardner Street, south of the Girl Scout camp. I suspect that the 2 parking lots at the Girl Scout camp will now really be closing.

Also, there is a new single-track trail that leaves the new parking, lot meandering through the woods, eventually crossing the road and connecting with fire road across from the Girl Scoutn camp. It's only a short trail but it appears that some thought was put into it's design and construction. There is a nicely built wooden bridge to carry hikers/bikers across a small stream, and several logs across this short trail for newbies to practice their technique both climbing (leaving the parking lot) and descending (returning to the parking lot).

Anyone know who was responsible for the layout & construction of this trail?

I know that the Manchester Conservation Commission had been working to establish a parking lot in response to the closure of the girl scout camp lot. I would imagine that Jack McVeigh, the MCC chair and avid cyclist would be your best source of information for this. Find the MCC via the town of Manchester's website.
