OK, who cut through and removed the log halfway up the Backpacker Trail? It had been there over a year already, and it was half ground through with chainring wear anyway. Not much technical difficulty, but it made a decent addition to the aerobic challenge of the hill.

I don't know who did it, but I too noticed it was cut away when I was there over a month ago.. I miss it as well.

I seem to recall last year that some sanitizing was done to the rocky back side of Gibbs Mtn. (not sure of the trail name) - the trail that takes you out to cross over Parmenter/Edmands to the Framingham side of the park.

I heard there was a workday held by a hiking organization at Callahan. Could have been them.

As I recall the work done on the side of Gibbs Mt. was a NEMBA project. I don't have any problem with that one. I've only ridden that trail a couple of times, but it was very loose and dusty and shifting down the hill. The log, however, was fairly innocuous -- a horse or hiker could step over it with ease. Oh well.
