Hi,
I am just starting to ride. I live in the Westerly area and am interested to find out how many decent trails are in this area.
I know that Woody Hill has some... I just got back from doing a brief excursion to check it out.
Any others close by?
Also, is there a place to find decent trail maps, etc.?
Thanks in advance :)
Besides woody hill there is not much else in the Westerly area. Other nearby areas would be Burlingame in Charlestown (about 10 minutes away), Bluff Point in Stonington/Mystic CT. About 20-30 minutes. There is also Arcadia Management Area in Exeter/W. Greenwich and Big River Management Area in Coventry. These 2 areas are big with miles and miles of trails. For maps try Kings Cyclery or either www.nemba.org or bustedspoke.com for rides. Enjoy...

Mike, thanks for input.
I guess I should have been more explicit when I said the "Westerly area". I actually meant Westerly/Charlestown/etc.
I only live about 3/4 of a mile from one of the entrances to the Woody Hill trails and checked it out yesterday. I got a little concerned, though, when I took one turn and ended up going about 300 yards and finding the trail posted with a huge "No Trespassing" sign.
This is why I'd like to find somebody with some maps in an effort to keep from ending up on private property.
Thanks again, though, for your help. I appreciate it.
