I'm applying for a job that, come September, will relocate me from Washington state to Cape Cod. I'll have the option of living in either Bourne or Wellfleet, and was wondering which would be a better location for getting out and hitting the trails? Forgive me for my complete ignorance of MA geography. Any light ya'll could shed on the merits of either town would be much appreciated. Thanks! :)

Bourne is closer to trail riding for sure. areas like Otis ANG Base has lots of trails as well as a short road trip to other state parks with decent riding. It is MUCH closer to rtes 3/495 to make a road trip to other great riding off Cape not too far away. Wellfleet is a good 1.5 hrs from Bourne, and MUCH more in summer traffic.

Wellfleet on the other hand is limited in any type of trail riding. A 30min drive to Brewster could lead to some trails in Nickerson State Park, or even the Punkhorn in Brewster. A further trip to Dennis/Yarmouth area leads to a few other riding areas - Trail of Tears or Yarmouth conservation land are some. On the other hand, Wellfleet is Beautiful, especailly in the Summer.
