That ride last night is worthy of an epic short story! While the riding part was great, all of the other stuff was, well, like using an arc welder to sew a button on a pair of jeans!

The question of the ride was "Where the heck is Bob?" We started without him, then he was there, then we finished without him! So 20 minutes after meeting time 4 riders; Jisch, IAB, Mike and I left Hopkins Road without the Bob. Somewhere down the trail he found us playing on a rock...Hi Bob!

How can a wheel decide that all of the spokes are going to loosen to noodle status simultaneously, and instantly? ??? That took three stops and what seems like hours for yours truly to get under control (I think there are gremlins in those woods!).

I am convinced now more then ever that Mike is a douser because he can find lots of water in what looks like a tiny puddle. In fact he can find smelly putrid water mixed with black goo! What an amazing talent! The most amazing part is that he uses his entire body to locate these precious pits of juice! I particularly like how angry he got all the while being heckled (pun intended) by the very dry onlookers! >:( You know how tv is supposed to make you look heavier? Well black goo makes you look like you have man-boobs! Poor tree! :'(

So then IAB had a flat and fixed it in record time! Nice work under pressure there IAB! (He had a date with some cool chick and the Matrix). How was it?

So after all of this, and some great riding I might add, we had to send out search parties to find the Bob as darkness quickly approached. Jisch went one way, I went another...No Bob! OK meet at the big rock...So I get IAB and Mike and take the high road, Jisch takes the low road, we have got to find the elusive Bob. Now IAB needed to get going to see the cool chick, so Mike and IAB go to the cars and Jisch and I head back out to find the Bob. Low and behold the miracles of cell phones. I hear Mike's voice, he found the Bob at the cars...If only he had beers for us AT THE CARS like MrMG!!!!

What a great ride! Let's write this one off on the full moon and lunar eclipse! Thanks guys! Can't wait for the next one!

JT:

I concur excellent ride. I had a good time. I don't have my camera here at work, I'll have to take a look at the pics tonight when I get home. As usual I didn't take the camera out as often I thought I would.

I'm in for the next one!

The Elusive "Bob" I love it! Say if you guys make a Thursday night at the Soap a regular ride, I'm in for the next one and more to follow. I'm going to have the kids on Tuesday nights for about a month straight while my estranged wife takes golf lessons, so it's only fair that I get to play on Thursday nights right!!

Oh yeah, and I'll stock the beers for post-ride imbibing! Harpoons Baby!! ;D

JT, excellent write-up! Hey, has Mike dried off yet?? :D :D Man, I was right on his ass when he went down. The helmet cam would have captured a beautiful spill had I been wearing it.

Jisch did all the work on my tire change. He had the tire off and tube removed before I even got the spare tube out of my CamelBak. I'll tell ya though, those CO2 cartridges sure are nice to have.

Excellent ride yesterday! We need more mid-week rides. :)
