Isn't there a company in North Carolina called Endless that is making sweet burly, versatile hardtail frames?
Also, east coast - and Canadian - is Balfa - Check out their Minuteman frame!
A ton of amazing options out there Dawgee!
Cheers,
Mark

$69.95 WAL-FART special. Handlebars and brake lever were installed backwards. The back wheel was loose, the headset was loose. But should I expect anything less from WAL-FART. That's what $5 per hour gets ya. Hey no problem, I fixed it. But imagine the avg. Joe brings his bike home for his daughter and the back wheel falls off. IDIOTS, INCOMPETENCE and CARELESSNESS abounds at WAL-FART. Knuckle

When they stop making money doing things the way they do, then they will change. Your spending $70 on a bike that isnt worth $30 isnt going to change anything any more then ranting on this forum will. In fact it will have the opposite effect.

Whatever dude, all I know is I bought a bike and paid money for it. Yeah it's cheap, and it works fine for my kid, but if anybody sells a bike, it should be properly assembled, $50 bike or $2000 bike, $5/hr or $55/hr. It's about principals and pride in your work that's all. Understand? Good. I don't care, I'm happy with the bike. So I had to spend 5 minutes tweaking it. Not a biggie. It's just the fact that when people don't get paid what they think they should be getting, they don't perform their job properly. Extend yourself, go for it. If you don't like your job, don't perform it half assed. Quit. Knuckle

Hey Knuckle what do you think of a Clifcat Tankass frame? Anyone else have an opinion on what kind of good hardtail frame i could get?

Thats a burly ass frame man for sure. Not sure you need something that burly unless you are going off huge ass dirt jumps. There are a ton of frames out there. Kona stuff cro-mo frames are dirt cheap. Da Bomb makes a sputnik for like $200 on pricepoint, there is sinister, pricey but nice, planet x makes some nice frames. Did you check out www.unrealcycles.com ?
Jeesh theres so many of them. Planet X has got a lot of nice features on their frames too. They are big and a lot of dirt jumpers/trials riders use them. I liked the gack as it has a long top tube, 221.5 or 22, a high BB height and a shorter seat tube. So it has a bmx type look and feel, but with 26" I can ride it fine on trails up hills and stuff with the seat up a bit. It's a rather heavy bike though for a HT. I think mine is 30 or 35 lbs?

I did checkout unreal.com thats where i seen the Tankass. Im only 5'6" so i need a smaller frame. My Bullit is 14" and i love the feel of it. The Azonic frame i have is a 16" its just doesnt feel right when i jump with it and i use a 50mm stem . Id like to find a frame that has the same top tube length and chainstay length of my Bullit.

Dawg, check out the Gack Speed Demon a lot of the specs of it and the small bullit are almost the same. The chainstay length is adjustable to the same of a bullit's, the seat tube is only 3/4" shorter than the bullit, the top tube is 21.5 in a small vs. 21.2 on the bullit, the bb height is 13" with a 24" rear vs. 14.8 on the bullit, a 26" rear will bring it up an inch, the head tube angle on the gack is 70 deg vs. 69.3 on the bullit. I think the geometry is almost the same. Now some guys like Sinister Bill will tell you that the two frames are nothing alike due to the small differences, but I tend to think that a 1/2" here and a .5 of a degree there is not gonna make a huge difference. I love my gack. I researched frames up, down, left, sideways. I originally wanted a sinister, but they were too pricey at the time. Of course I have the money now for one, but diddn't have the money when I was looking for a frame, so for $400 bucks, I think I got a bad ass frame. I raise up the seat on it for the trail and I can pedal the bitch up any hill. I think it's a nice riding frame, especially with the 26" rims. I've not ridden 24" rims, but have heard that they are rough on the trails. Check this link out. I'm not trying to push you into buying a Gack, but I'm just super happy with the frame I got. You can also get it with an integrated headset as well which I diddn't do as none were available at the time, but that is a bad ass option. If you arent familiar with an integrated headset, it's basically like the cups are built into the frame and the bearings are super tight and have tollerances suitable for the space shuttle. Awesome stuff I think. Give Chris Gack a call, he'll tell you all about them.

Just the usual knuckleramble. I'd say the A.D.D. is kicking in big time since he went off his medication.
