i won a firemans cruzer race frame and fork a couple years ago at an auction for about $60. was kinda an impulse bid, but i kinda like the frame. it's a 26" bmx bike. it takes bmx cranks (3 piece), bmx hub spacing. http://www.firemansbikes.com/original.htm . i need a wheelset for it though. the rest of the stuff i need is minor or somewhat normal sizes. i need a rear 26" wheel with a bmx hub. i wouldn't mind if i could get an old track hub that has one fixed gear side and a freewheel side. if not i'm leaning toward shimano dx for a decent cheap cassette hub. i was gonna order a pair of these really nice trick TNT revolver hubs but then they became discontinued. i don't really want to deal with modifying a hub as far a s spacers to fit in the frame. this is suppose to be my tank bike. basicly maintenance free. fully rigid 4130 cromo frame and fork, hopefully some profile cranks. so does anyone know of anyone that has a 26" bmx wheel to sell? i don't feel like paying the price for a custom wheelset right now. i can use an old front wheel unitl i finally get the $$$ for a custom wheelset.

Try jensonusa.com. They had a wheelset for a Redline Monocog which uses 110mm (BMX) spacing ft/rr for cheap.

You could do something like this. I took an old bmx hub and laced it to the mtb rim. You need to add some spacers/washers between the hub and frame to compensate for the width difference between a bmx and mtb frame. Other than that it works fine as long as the axle is long enough. I also am using tnt chain tensioners which I cut the back flange off of so they are able to work with verticle dropouts. These work great because of the two set screws on each tensioner. I've been running this setup for over 2 years with no problems. The biggest problem for me was lacing the hub to the rim because it was the first time I had done it and also did it without a truing stand. It took some time but came out fine. Here's a few picks. By the way this bike started out as a 24" rim 18 speed mtb and is now a cross between a single speed mtb a bmx cruiser.

the firemans is all bmx spacing, evewn the hubs, it just takes 26" rims. so if i had some old bmx hubs, i wouldn't need any spacers
