They keep making them, and I keep just riding them along. I got a nice hike out at Lynn Woods last night...

Ouch! I hope you didn't impale yourself on any of that tubing upon impact.
How big was the drop you were JRA off?

Funny thing last night-I forgot to bring my bike shoes to the ride, so I 'braved it' & rode my 545 pedals with loose-fitting Merrell mocs. So when the frame exploded I was thrown cleanly over the bars, spared the gnarly consequences had I been attached to the sharp parts.
And it wasn't even a drop at all last night...just a steep rock I was rolling down. At the bottom instead of my fork compressing, well, you know what happened.

The frame's in my trunk, and I'm headed to my dealer this a.m. to find out. Intense has a 2 year warranty, which I'm ~8 months inside of still.

Ouch! Looks like the top-tube busted at the weld and caused the down tube to implode? Catastrophic failures are the only kind worth having ;)

Yeah, they created a big enough stress riser that tubes had a nice clean break... ;D
Yikes!!!! Glad to hear the body damage was minimal, it could have been a lot worse.

How is the Intense warranty program?
Hope they honor warranty with paint stripped...
By the looks of the remains, your luck was with you to come outta that one with no injuries.

Fortunately, Intense stripped the frame for me in March when I sent the frame in for a 'refurb' program. This included finish, new bearings, and inspection for cracks. So, the manufacturer checked this thing out 2 months ago & it was fine.
Yeah, luckily I wasn't clipped in last night or things would've been different!
My frame is resting comfortably at my local Intense dealer as of this noontime.

NICE ONE! I thought I screwed my bike up when I put a huge ass dent in my rim yesterday. Boy was I wrong. Good luck with the warranty. Can I have your rear shock?????? ;D

It's crazy how the frame exploded like that. I've broken a couple of bmx bikes in the past, but only one tube failed not the entire frame. It may be a characteristic of aluminum vs steel.
