Too bad you have to be a midget to ride either of those bikes ;)

the imp wins no contest
the seat is only there so there's something for your knees to do while you are in the air...and some where to sit when you're stopped :)

Judging by the condition of his bike I'd wager that JimmyTwoTimer either IS or IS RELATED TO Knuckle.
Bikes look better with mud on them. NOT sitting in pristene NOS condition in either your Orange Boom Boom Room or the basement.
GET OUT AND RIDE!!!

Actually I think couch was refering the TT length, not the saddle position. I'm 6'4 & couldnt pedal either of those bikes standing up without hitting my knees on the bars.
The virtual top tube length on the evil is 20" to 24" depending on where the seat is positioned. These bikes were not necc. designed to be climbers or all around trail bikes but they are very tough, obviously rad lookers. Maybe not for everyone but if you lean towards dirt jumps, skate parks, urban assault and stunts you'll wish you had one of them between your legs and not beating the **** out of your expensive and pain in the ass to maintain full suspension. Not that I ride one, but...I've had to fix more F.S. bikes of my son's and his friends that I'm very happy that they have gone the Evil, Banshee, Snipes ect route. Far less to break and fix. These guys are dropping 8-12 feet to flat and play at the Prison trails in Billerica and were always screwing up their F.S. Now I'm free...
Crpap, include Sinister in there too...nice machine..

old man, yr absolutely spot on. the evil is great at places like rye or lynn, but there's no way in hell i'd ride it at a place like bear brook.

Of course you wouldn't - that's your son's bike, right? How long has he had the training wheels off? ;^)
How many bikes are you bringing to the Emerald Isle?

I tried pedaling the Evil and as AA said, a tall guy really can't. It's like you're on a clown bike. Oh, and I mean standing up, not sitting. What it needs to make it usable by a tall guy is a set of BMX bars so you could sweep them forward and also get the height. I found that I didn't have enough room to extend my arms unless my torso was way over the rear end which made pedaling impossible as the cranks were in front of your legs. It was like trying to ride around in a "manual-position" all the time.
When they build bikes like that they should forget the top-tube length w/ regards to the seat position. They run a severely sloping seast tube and you are never seated anyhow. They need to judge the TT length w/ respect to the BB position. I suppose that means you really care about down-tube length. Whatever it is, it should be a few inches longer ;)

hey radair - 3 bikes (spooky pitboss, evil, giant DH) were whisked away from
my house yesterday.
you know anyone who wants to buy a voodoo or joker?
couch, the bike's top tube length is perfect, what are you talking about? throw a bit longer stem
on it (maybe 75mm) and you'll be fine. ask ssaddict what his setup is, he seems like a fairly good sized guy.
the angle of the seat tube on the imp is kinda silly, i think - really only the negative i can think of on that frame.
They need to judge the TT length w/ respect to the BB position.
I totally agree with this one, bikes that have a super slack seat angles always try to capitalize on top tube adjustablility.
In reality, no matter how high you set your seat post, the distance between your BB and head tube does not change.
And in my opinion, that's what really counts. If the front triangle is too short, it's too short and no amount of seat post is going to fix it...

Narlus, you ARE a midget so how would you know ;)
Like I say, the only way I could ride that thing is with a 150mm x 25 rise and a set of 3" rise bars. The Monster on the front would help too (vs. the 4" Z1 I tried it with). Look at BMX frames and see how long their TT's are (proportionally). Also, if I recall, last time I rode Lynn w/ you, you were pushing that Evil (w/ the 4" Z1) up the hills that I was pedaling on my M-1.
Slap a 5" fork and a set of 7" rise x 27" wide BMX bars, swept forward a few inches on it and I think I could ride the thing, maybe.

Sorry, i just kinda like the little bikes (again not that i ride one on a reg. basis that's true and my son is 19 @ 6'1") To me , and seemingly a few others they just have an appeal of an esthetic and brute force nature. Do like to see them in the air. I understand the BB to head tube relationship and i know what you're saying but i like tooling around in the back yard on them occasionally. Like many things I think they have their place and will enjoy all the toys in the arsenal...

well, last i recall on that ride was dropping stuff on my little bike which was artfully declined by your M1
;)
These are the prime toys...so you can see maybe i like things that are a bit diff. anywho...Bob

That's B.S. I'm 6' and have no problems, not even close...I move the seat up if I'm gonna pedal and enjoy the scenery as many of you seem to do....

Just back from warrany with a new front triangle. I found a new fork in the downtime (actually I liked my old Z1 FR too much on my XC bike).
