Does anyone have a nice picture of riding in Shenipsit for SingleTracks? I'm looking for a good trail riding picture.... nothing extreme.

Post here if you have something.

thanks,

pk

PK,

Jolly Time (JT) may have some good shots. Or perhaps Jisch as well.

Both live and ride the Shenipsit trails quite often!

Take care,

Mark

I've got some on the home computer. I'll have to check through. A lot of my Shenipsit rides are solo, so most of my pics are of trails and bikes laying down... I'll check through what I have. Here's three I have at work.

Where are those rocks located Jish? Those look doable by me and they look fun as hell too!!

Hmmm. they are pretty close to each other. Just down the trail from Hopkins Road.

I always ride by the first one. The "jump" I hardly ever ride past because there are better trails nearby...

PK,
Here is my best photo from last night. I think Jisch was Johnny-on-the-spot for most of the shots though. Enjoy this nice one of IAB cleanning the Low Bridge!

I'll post the best of what I got tonight. I think I only took four or five shots, we'll see what came out...

Looks and sounds like you guys had a helluva good time last night.

I had fun too, but of a different sort - riding bikes with my sons Liam and Connor! Connor wants to try to take his training wheels off soon! Need to put some body armor on him! lol ;D

Yeah it was a good time. I've done so many solo rides lately, it was great to hang out with some cool people on a ride.

Riding with the kids is cool too. That look on their faces the first time they balance on their own is priceless. One of my kids picked it up in 30 seconds, the other took a few weeks.

Good luck (and pads are definitely a good idea for a new learner)!

Here's a pic of some knob on the Shinipset. The photographer (the donut-eater at bikerag.com) assures me that any type of artistic "action-blurring" is purely coincidental.

I guess I'll take this time to plug bikerag's new forum:

I'm not sure if this knob is wheelie-dropping this or what. But my guess is that whatever the case, the drop is much bigger than it appears in the pic.

I'm starting to think that cameras suck. Not only do they add 20 pounds, the also take off 3 feet.

I've taken some pretty good shots with my camera, unfortunately none on last Thursday. Its a pretty cheapo one, for the best shots its got to be sunny (lotsa light). Under the clouds and whatnot last week the shutter speed slows to the point where action becomes a blur.

Anyone up for a ride this Thursday Night?

No can do this Thursday. Bummer too, because it's going to be the last nice day before a weekend of RAIN.

PK,
Nice article in Singletracks about my favorite riding spot...I guess none of our pics made tha grade. :'(

Not sure if it a coincidence but yesterday on the trails I saw more lost riders then I ever have. ;)

One thing about the article though that I think you forgot to mention was that the park is also used by mxers and if the season is right, hunters. This park sees almost every type of outdoor use and everyone seems to enjoy the park in relative harmony. It is a model that I wish other places could follow! And the riding is great whether you are a hucker, freerider stunt type, xc specialist or newbie.

Gosh I love that place! Glad you didn't give away any of the secret trails! 8)
