Boxxer Race. Parts availability and such. Plus usually a Rock Shox mechanic at big DH events.

boxxer definitely over those forks. the hannebrinks are pieces of crap, and the jr T doesn't have the nice damping characteristics of the boxxer.

MONSTER T. Yeah it's a little heavier, but you don't care as your not a wimp. A few more lbs ain't gonna kill ya. I have a monster T on my stinky. I just love the thing. I've also heard that you don't have to touch em for like 2 years. I thought mine was heavy at first, but man, what a fork. I just plow into everything. logs, jagged rock, anything. The thing just rules. Monster T. Nuff Said. I've heard a lot of bitching about seals and maintenance with the boxxer. I'm sure it's a good fork as many folks use them, but It just looks too small for what I want to do. Knuckle

hey knuck - the monster is a great fork, but it's definitely not for everyone (esp now that the '03 model is 1" more travel and 2-3lbs more than than the '02 and previous forks). of the dual crown forks i've owned, i like the feel of the monster ('01) the best, but for racing i'd definitely ride the boxxer ('02). the super T ('01) and jr T ('01) don't feel nearly as nice as the boxxer, and the stratos (FR5), well, it wasn't in the same league really.

I agree with Narlus 100%. I only have a little time on my '02 Boxxer but it is sooooo nice. The '03 Race are a really nice fork as well. I've got one on my wife's DH rig. It's not as plush as my '02 but I haven't messed with it at all yet. I'd say the Race is likely a good FR bighit fork, judging from the way it feels.
Unless you are doing really big hucks all the time/exclusively, I'd shy away from the Monster. It's just too big/fat for every day use. If you must go Marzocchi, maybe a Shiver would work, though it's awffly tall also.
I do like the Jr T as an all around fork. It's plenty stiff and isn't so plush that it won't work well for XC.

boxxer race seems to be the unamious favorite though the monster t seems more like my riding stile i think its out of my price range but if i had the money i would probily go for it .

try to find a used monster, '01 or '02. likely to be the cost as a new boxxer, and they typically hold up to most abuse just fine. the only thing i'd watch for is scratched stanchions. seals are easy to change, and there's really no structural concerns w/ that fork.

The only person I know who ever ran one was a dealer. I think he liked it but ended up having some issues in the end.
