does anyone has advice about watershed wahoo race? is it technical, mudddddy (it's OK if less than spring boogie), what tires, things to watch for, anything else I should know? I was totally unprepared for spring boogie but I guess it's the price first timers pay.

90%+ double track, non technical, one hill per lap. Lots of big ring. I reccomend narrow tires pumped up to at least 50 psi. The course favors the fittest riders vs. the riders w/ the most skill.
Good luck

Nothing technical at the Wahoo, just lots of speed!
A very unique off road racing event for this part of the country, the climbs are killer as you try to keep up a fast pace. Course should be dry and fast, very fast.
this race is always a blast.
Sign up early so you don't get shut out, they typically have a full field before the race and can't go over the limit, no matter how much you kick and scream! Check out www.efta.com for info.
The Wahoo is a great event for a wonderful cause, CASA, Court Appointed Special Advocate - volunteers that provide support in the legal system for abused and neglected children.

Any official confirmation of this? I don't see anything on the EFTA or FOMBA web sites about the race being full (I believe you Len but I know people who are still planning on going and assume that it is not yet full because there is nothing on those sites saying that it is).

That's the problem with locations or land managers that impose a rider limit on events, there is always a few folks that get shut out.
I know what it's like to get shut out of an event you want to do, ask me about Mt Washington :-(, sorry for you and friends not getting in.
In the past the FOMBA website would have a notice that states they are sold out, not sure why it isn't this year. Probably overtaxing of volunteers, there is only so much that the small amount of volunteers can do.
I am glad they filled up though, CASA is a great org and this event is an important fundraiser for them.
I will ping the EFTA webmaster to post something on that site.
Now don't forget to sign up early for other events, like the Vt 50. They will start taking registrations on May 15 and will probably sell out in a few weeks. Yikes that starts only a couple days away! You don't want to miss this one, a great event with a feast at the end. Plan to stay over and book rooms early, make it a weekend bash and you won't be disapointed, just ask the SCNH folks! They know how to have fun!
The VT50 also has a high school race of 11 miles that is totally cool. All you H-schoolers get some friends together and form a team! Last years teams had a blast.

The Watershed Wahoo is this Sunday and they need volunteers! If you are racing and have a friend for support or cheering ask them to volunteer and be part of this great event! Or drag someone along, chances are they will have a good time participating as a course official or water stop support. There will surly be plenty of fast paced action.
FOMBA can use all the support it can get to make the Watershed Wahoo a successful event. If you have, or know someone that has a couple hours on Sunday morning, May 18 and would like to volunteer to support this great cause please contact Jack Chapman at jack@fomba.com
I am sure the folks at FOMBA would greatly appreciate any time you can provide, as well as the great CASA volunteers and of course the children that require their support.

Do as I say, not as I do!
The VT50 filled up in less than a day! I just got home and tried to sign up and guess what, I am on the wait list!
But that shouldn't be a problem there were almost 100 people that cancelled last year so the wait list went fast.
Sign up for the list now and chances are you will still get in on this great event.
There is no fee for the wait list.
