Anyone have any experience with these?

I've been running the stock Bontrager AC Jones on my Trek 8000 and haven't had a problem with them. I do most of my riding up in Vietnam and am primarily interested in a tire that corners well and has a decent grip for climbing. I managed to pick up a nice slice in the sidewall on my front tire and need to replace it so I thought I'd look into a different model.

Any other suggestions would be welcome as well!

Thanks!

Yes - They're my tire of choice! They don't look like they could work as well as they do (not too beefy, shallow tread, etc...) but they stick well and break away smoothly - They work. A similar tire is the Hutchinson Python Air Lite, which may weigh a little less.

I briefly changed to Panaracer Fire XCs last summer, looking for a great all-around tire (and not trusting that I already had one). I lost significant traction and control, started falling more and having a lot less fun!

FWIW, I weigh about 155 and ride XC on a short-travel Klein. In the rocky Blue Hills, the Bontys make me feel like I'm gliding over the rocks. The Panaracers plowed through them.

Check out the reviews on MTBR.com.

I have two sets of rims set up...1 set with Bontrager Revolt Super X and another set with WTB Nano Rapters...I have been using the Nanos for the mud season but will be switching back to the Bontragers soon. They are light and work surprisingly well in this Newengland rooty rocky terrain...I would recomend them.

Thanks for the input. I ended up going with them after reading some of the reviews at MTBR.com

So far I've only got the one on the front wheel since the second was defective when I received it. :( I ran with it a couple times before the recent deluge set in and it seemed like it cornered a lot better than the Jones AC. I'll be putting the second one on the rear tonight and hope to try it out on Saturday!
