VIETNAM ARSONIST IS BACK !

I did a ride today showing 10 guys from New Hampshire around the nam.
as we were going down the one trail we saw and smelld smoke as we got closer we saw an area of the forest with the brush burning.
I called 911 and got the fire Deptarment while the rest ofthe guys started making a fire break , I had to ride down and get the fireman to show them where the fire was, our quick action had contained it, and No wind helped a lot. while I was brining the firemen in the one told me this is the 3rd fire since easter Sundaya and that the arsonist is back .

So if you are in there and see anything suspcious , report it to the Milford ( or State ) police immediatly!

I don't get it! Why would anyone be motivated to do this sort of crap? Easter Sunday was only 2 weeks ago, and 3 instances already occured? WTF! Did the FDP mention when or what time these fires occured? Is there a pattern?

I'm willing to ride there every GD day after work if it means catching this bastard!! (I know, its not much of a sacrifice.)

Speaking of the Spider...it's gone. I rode by it on Sat. and it's been completely torn down.

This is purely dimestore speculation on my part, but I would imagine the perpetrator is not someone who uses the trails (i.e. hiker, biker, or Mxer), but rather is someone wants the aforementioned trail users out of the picture. Sort of a 'If I burn it they won't come' mentality. Sort of an bass-ackwards type approach similar to those employed by those ELF nutjobs. I wonder if its related in any way to the land purchase or any proposed development in the area?

I don' believe that was the case at Lynn Woods. Just cause people are younger doesn't make them foolish, though you could be completely right about the arsonist.

Im not sure we can assume that all these fires are the result of arson. We had a very quick and cold winter where the leaves of the fall did not have a chance to decompose. They were covered in snow and preserved until recently. Christ, it looks like late fall out there in the woods right now. So I wouldn't be surprised to see more fires like this reported in other areas in the next few months. Makes sense?

it is not rocket science to realize it is arson. after careful consideration over the past years, the fire chief says...arson in that land parcel. and the chief is an expert. nuff said. then again a true investigation needs to be done ...if these were houses burning you betcha they'd catch the bastard. since it is scrub woods, and kinda barren, the funds are not being spent on investigation and/or they are doing this and the felon is good at getting away with it

honestly there is also the chance that with phases of the moon and black cats and witchcraft the sun is bouncing off the insulators of the powerlines at certain periods of the year and causing sunlight hot-spots to burn the leaves...or lightning, or green gnomes. but none of that is the case. lightning fires, if it were, would be far above average for any other Mass. forest.

2nd : the fireman who I talked to said it was the 3rd fire since it dried out , the first burned 50 acreas on the the other side of 85 , the second burned 12 acres. then this one , it didn't even burn an acre. 3 consecutive sundays.

and he made a very interesting comment. that the fires last time stopped right after the Milford PD made a very large drug bust, he did not know how it was related , but said somehow it was.
