I'm so dissappointed with this New England weather that I'm planning to take a half day Friday afternoon for a ride.
Friday looks nice, and the weekend looks crappy.
Probably Whitehall & Upton.
Anyone else wanna play hookie?

I for one, and I reliaze probably the only one, am quite happy with the current crappy weather. You see, I don't feel as bad about not being able to ride for another month when noone else is riding much either.
My 2¢.

Agreed, this sux. We get one good/usable week, and then a bad one. Man I could use some real time in the saddle.
Hopefully tomorrow will turn out OK.

While the weather hasn't been exactly beautiful, I can report that despite the rain the trails are a lot firmer now than last week. I rode a local trail near work last Friday and it was quite soft, but by Tuesday, even though I got rained on, it was pretty solid. And yesterday was fine. So I think you've gotta pick your spots, but there's no reason to stay home.

Yes, I noticed last night that the local stuff had dried up a ton in the past week. There is no more running water on the trails and most of the puddles have dried as well.

Boy, what a great time today!
Nice long 4hr ride with Splat and Bill.
Around Lake Whitehall and big loop thru Upton SF.
Very pretty..and lots of hills.
Beautiful day.
I'm real impressed with the bike skills of Bill and CP. Their abilities on log jumps, bike hops, and balance inspire me to practice such things. Always great to be riding with ma buddy Splat, too.
I loose all my macho points by taking a 2 hour nap after dinner tonight. ::)
Bill, thanks again for driving the distance to join us.
Next time I travel, and be late for picking up the kids.
Sorry for getting us back an hour later than planned.
I do find it hard to leave the woods. My bad.
Thanks Doods!

Those are some nice pics. I was hoping the log jump at the parking lot came out but i guess if i fell and hurt myself there would be more chance of it being published.
Why is it the ride times get longer every time i hear about them? SloMo says here that it was 4 hours and splat says on RM that it was 5 hours. I remember it as 3.75 hours, but then tommorow when i am unable to rise from the bed or walk or pick up the baby then it will seem more like 6 hours.
Thanks for having me along and dragging me up the hills. That Slomo can sure climb and Splat has got some speed on the flats. As long as those trees keep falling in the way i know i'll be able to catch up. Maybe if they come up with some kind of multi-disapline relay race we can make a team. At least the bikes all match.
See you on the next one
