View Full Version : A Plea For Peace (Something we all can do..)

Sylvan

Disclaimer: these are the words of my friend. I changed them to "she" and "her" so it wouldn't come off as if it was my idea. I think it's a neat idea, yes, but I didn't come up with it. Hereafter, anything in this post is credited as being my friend's words.

A friend of mine is starting a campaign and needs the assistance of those here, there, and everywhere wishing to participate. Over the next few days, she will be emailing every person she knows online, emailing radio stations across Washington and across the USA.

The request, and I hope that you will participate is to have radio stations, across the country, on March 17th, at 11:11 a.m. play the song, Imagine, by John Lennon.

We need to speak up, as human beings, and allow our voices be heard. Please, I urge you all to join us...

PRAY FOR PEACE NOT WAR......

Oh, don't you worry. There will be peace... after we systematically annihilate Saddam's regime and forcibly disarm this evil man, he'll have nothing left with which to threaten anyone. So while you pacifists waste your time with your various protests, I will e-mail radio stations and instead ask them to play Metallica's For Whom The Bell Tolls in dedication to Hussein and Co. And I won't need to pray because war is imminent.

PRAY FOR PEACE NOT WAR......

Here's an idea: How about saying a prayer for the thousands and thousands of men and women in the U.S. armed forces who are going to be fighting for your freedom?

Anti-war people just won't "get it" until an Iraqi-made terrorist bomb lands on their house.

Word to your mother!

None of us wants war, unfortunately somethimes it's unavoidable. We can't always go around with our heads burried in the sand.

Something occured to me on the drive home yesterday. I saw a bumpersticker on a car, one that was very popular a little over a year ago. It was an American flag and the phrase "We will never forget". What struck me as ironic was just how fast everyone did.

You know, George Bush really screwed up his chance for a fully supported forcible disarmament by delaying SO FRIGGING LONG to do it. I mean, if his people were so sure of this so-called evidence that Saddam continues to harbor weapons of MD and nuclear materials, a claim which I happen to believe, they should have went in a year ago when they first brought forth such allegations. But NOOOO, they had to go to the UN and ask the ever cowardly French and the overly pacifistic Germans as well as the cabal of rogue third-world nations which comprise most of this joke organization... and they expected support? Especially knowing that France has major business ties with Iraq?

So now we have all of these moronic entertainers with their uninformed opinions trying to be the pied pipers for "peace", with much help from the left leaning print media and networks. Now it is easy for those who take our freedom for granted to come out of the woodwork and think that their cause is somehow just. You have it exactly right, CT, people did forget, and we knew that they would. Such is life today that people have short attention spans. But how will these people feel when the next terrorist attackon our soil occurs? Most of them will transform into hawks again. The others will blame it on our Iraq incursion, nevermind that we were minding our own business on Sept.11th.

I can't wait until all of our detractors, both home and abroad, have to eat their words when we uncover hordes of chemical and biological materials. Of course, many will side with the conspiracies that will surely come about: we planted the materials, etc, etc.

I was in a pretty good mood this morning until I read Sylvan's post. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. >:( >:( >:(

Exactly how does a pagan pray for peace anyway?

We have our Gods and Goddesses too. ;)
As for the rest of all these posts... *shakes head* Be pro-war if you like. Be pro-peace if you like. Be pro-monkeys. ;D But be nice to your neighbor. These are hard times and it's tough to know what to think about all this.
And jeez louise, you'd have thought I'd asked you to all just lay in a field of daisies and look up at the clouds! All this is, is a request to request a song on a radio station. Nothing any more crucial than that. :o

I can not believe that people are willing to bury their heads in the sand on Iraq. As a matter of fact, this plea for peace pisses me off! I know that we are all entitled to freedom of speech, a right that is and was defended by war, but this is getting out of hand. We are in a time when there is evil in this world, such as, Osama, Al Queda, North Korea and so on. Saddam's track record includes genocide, extortion, kidnapping, and murder, yet, people ask for peace! This war (as many like to call it) or this act of peace (as I like to call it) is necessary to stabilize Iraq and alleviate the oppression that the civilians have been dealing with for decades. I am not here to glorify war, but rather to show that there are times when lighting candles and wearing peace pins is not enough. >:(

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAaHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAAA HHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA hhhaaa hahha haaha haa ahhaaaa. dude, that's the funniest fu*king thing I've ever read. And I'll ask them to play War Ensemble by Slayer and Seek and Destroy by Metallica. Dude ,you made my day. Pray for War. God Damn I can not wait till the chaos ensues. Don't even bother with these peace idiots, and I think that there should be a law made that any celebrity that voices any opinion about the war should be shot on site. And for Ted Kennedy, I think they should use the Kennedy Compound in Hyannis as a prison and torture chamber for future terrorists with Ted the fat (multichinned) bastard in cell #1. These peace idiots have no concept of reality so I will not waste even another synapse in my brain thinking about those idiots. WAR is on fellas. Mar 17 is coming. :-X :-X :-X :-X :-X :-X :-X

Yeah if I hear that song once more I'm gonna fu*king puke. Oh yeah and F YOKO ONE too, that ugly bitch. When it comes to Islamic extremists, there is no such word as Peace. F Peace, we can have peace after the war, but for the next 6 months, it's war. And F sheryl Crow. anybody that buys any more of her sh*t should be shot as well, and West Wing should be taken off the air and all the reruns destroyed. I think Martin has been smoking too much sh*t, he took a hit of acid with President Bush on it and now he thinks he's the fu*king president. Jeese Louise.

Well I personally have nothing against hippies, and I would much rather have peace. The whole war thing freaks me out, but I have to have faith in President Bush and his reasons for doing what he wants to do. Remember, we only hear what the media tells us and they only hear what the government wants to tell them. So just imagine what is really going on and why Bush is so hell bent on Iraq. Husseins ultimate goal is a nuclear weapon, and the ability to destroy the United States. What don't people understand about that. War freaks me out. Korea freaks me out even more than Iraq and I wonder every day if I'm gonna get to ride my new mountain bike. It sucks, it really does. However to ensure our peaceful existance, we must support our elected officials (President Bush) and go through the sh*t to get to the gold. The result will be 5-10 more years of peace till some new nutbag comes along. All out to destroy us. Thats it. Destroy the United States because we have a better life. But the reason we have a better life is because we get up and go to f*cking work every day. It's not my fault that 3rd world countries don't have the opportunities to make a life like we have and personally I don't give a f*ck either. Blame it on the as*holes running their countries. It's all about jealousy folks. Me, all I want to do is ride my f*cking bike. Mountain biking has given me new hope for life as far as fitness, something I love to do, and if Hussein is going to threaten my mountain biking, I say cut the bastards arms and legs with a small rusty jack-knife and tie him to a stake in the desert and let the buzzards pick at the bastard till hes dead. Just imagine the military guys over in Kuwait. Most of them we're 14 years old when the first gulf war occured. Makes my our fears over here look a little weak doesn't it? What I don't understand is what all these peace freaks and hippies are worried about. I hang out with hippies, the folks that never grew out of smoking weed. Some are my dearest friends. I personally can't handle pot anymore, but I'm all for peace. Just let me ride my f*cking bike. Christ. :-X

Now, and not surprisingly, it looks like the March 17th deadline will likely be extended, maybe 45 days, because Bush and Co. continue to kowtow to the UN and the French and Russian delay tactics. I do not understand why the continued attempt at a so-called resolution when it does not matter when the deadline supposedly is, because the "inspections" will never work and our UN "allies" are only worried about their own country's interest in Iraqi oil and, in France's case, the sale of fighter jet parts. I have to wonder what is more important to George Bush, his personal international business interests or the United States of America. The longer this plays out, the more cynical I will continue to become concerning his modus operandi. We should be celebrating our annihilation of Saddam's regime by now.

Can anyone explain to me why they believe that inspections might work when they didn't for 7 years before Saddam kicked them out in 1998 because he thought they were all spies, a claim he continues to make, by the way. Jesus, why are there so many naive people?

knucklebuste
March 11th, 2003, 01:24 PM
Well I can't wait another 45 days, and if they do wait, they should use the 45 days to start some **** over in Korea. I say get the russians, china, and whatever else is in the blast radius should we send an icbm over there. If it were up to me, I would threaten a nuclear strike. No more missile launches, shut down the nuclear power plant, etc by a certain date or the United States of America will make North Korea a new Hiroshima. That's it, done. Don't F with the USA. I say we make an example out of Korea and then let that send the vibe as to what is going to happen in Iraq if Hussein launches any chemical, biological weapons at our troops or surrounding countries. I don't understand this. As you said Mr Cheddar, what is the fuc*ing hold up here?

Jesus, why are there so many naive people?

Alas, my son, this is something that Jesus cannot explain, since the entire existence of religion, most especially Christianity, is based upon naiveté. Ah, but let us not dismiss those who delve in the art of witchcraft, either, sister Sylvan. All of the spells and formulas or pleas to good old Mother Earth will fail to convince leaders of nations to throw down their arms when their very free existence is threatened by insane despots intent upon projecting their thirst for power.

Oops, sorry, Jesus got a little too serious there. Please my children, forget what Jesus said about you being naive. You are still expected to waste 40 minutes sitting in a church pew this Sunday.

Ooops... I don't think this was the kind of responce Sylvan was hoping for :-[.

Sylvan - peace is great and all, but sometimes people that continually take advantage of things, need to be slapped back down. All of a sudden, everybody is interested, now that it has come to an ending. What about the past 12 years that Saddam has thumbed his nose at the UN. Where were all the peace activist and human rights supporters then. The only reason he has taken the small steps towards disarmament he has, is because he is looking down the barrel of the U.S. military. If we back off, he'll be right back to his old ways. The UN has no credibility with Saddam anymore, because they have never enforced their previous treaties and resolutions. Nobody likes to punish their kids, but if you don't, you have an uncontrollable spoiled brat on your hands that has no respect for others. He needs to be punished >:(. He is a threat to every peace and freedom loving person in the world.
