Once a national showcase for competitive luminaries from mountain biking’s golden age such as Ned Overend, John Tomac and Cindy Whitehead, Wendell State Forest is once again throwing open it’s doors to mountain bikers.
With a mix of hilly, jump-strewn fire roads and xc ski trails, classic multi-use M&M and Robert Frost Trails, and dozens of miles of singletrack crafted and maintained by Pioneer Valley NEMBA’s loving hands weaving in and out of it’s magnificent forests, over, between and around it’s plentiful rocks and ledges and around it’s picturesque ponds, Wendell State forest serves up some of the best riding in the region.
The Kona Bicycles MTB Adventure ride offers biking enthusiasts of all levels and abilities the best opportunity to reconnect with the splendor of Wendell along well-marked, preset routes. Several route options will be marked, from the social loop, to a full on Epic ride with all the Hero Options expected to take close to 4 hours for even the strongest regional riders.
Cost: $10.00 for NEMBA members, $25.00 for non-members and FREE for anyone

Directions to Wendell State Forest-Montague RD, Wendell, MA:
From the East or West Take Rte 2 to Rte 63 south to downtown Miller’s Falls- once in town take Wendell Rd over the Rail Road Bridge-where it becomes Montague Rd-follow up the hill for several miles. Wendell State Forest parking area will be on your left. Look for brown Wendell State Forest Signs with arrows pointing the way to the park-they’re fairly obvious and lead right to the park.
Wendell State Park
