NEMBA & IMBA's Trail School in the Berkshires
May 22-23

Pittsfield MA – Fifty-five trail enthusiasts gathered at Pittsfield State Forest for a weekend of trail education with instructors from the International Mountain Bicycling Association and NEMBA. Over the course of two days, the group built new trail, learned different techniques for rock armoring steep and wet trails, and built a 120' boardwalk and bridge over a wetland. Of course, there was plenty of riding (and hiking), and plenty of fun and good camaraderie to be had.
We thank the Department of Conservation & Recreation for their support, and we especially thank DCR's Becky Barnes for both her logisitical support and trail expertise. We also thank DCR's Gary Briere for his instruction on resource protection and Pittsfield Supervisor, Mark Todd, for being such a gracious host. We hope we left Pittsfield State Forest better for our efforts.
