The third annual video awards blasted out to another sold-out crowd of enthusiastic mountain bikers. The films were great, the Redbones BBQ tasty, and the Harpoon IPA was fresh. Jim Ioannidis -- Seek Out Your Bliss, A Tribute to JD

The video awards was the kick-off gathering of the season. It was great to see old friends and meet new ones... and get psyched for another great season of riding.

Bill Lazdowski (looking like a lean, mean, riding machine) catches up with cycling writer, David Alden

The playing of Jim Ioannidis' "Seek out your bliss, a tribute to JD" was the one poignant moment of the event. As a tribute to a fallen rider, Jim simply wished to show the video and not enter the awards competition, a class act and a wonderful film.

We're all kids at heart, eh? Here's la familia Splat, along with other forum folk in the back: Justbill, SloMoJo, IFRider and Evil:Bota.

In the green t-shirt, Brian McInnis of JRA Cycles. Both Brian and his shop have a lot of soul and are helping to build mountain bike culture rider by rider.

Ride to eat, eat to ride.... Redbones BBQ always guarantees a tasty, spicy evening.

Seventeen year old Stephen Pope is a filmmaker with rockets in his pockets. Stephen and his buddies' film won two year's ago.

Kona Clump Freerider, Dave Watson co-hosted the event like the pro that he is. Affable and down to earth, Dave is an inspiration to great riding. He's also the real deal, and at one point during the evening, he made a personal donation to NEMBA out of his own pocket. ...very cool, eh?

CT NEMBA members, Tracey Pandolfo and Matt Peabody have a spot of fun.

Peter Brandenburg handled the A/V like a pro.

Jeff Udell recieving his award for Best Production from Karen Eagan, pro downhiller and "JRA Podium Girl." Jeff's video, narrated by Marla Streb, featured 15 pro downhill women, including Eagen.
